Susan Hayes first started taking yoga classes while she was at UCLA in 1976; she became certified to teach yoga at the Expanding Light in Nevada City in 1999. She has been teaching yoga in Placer County since 1999. She opened her first yoga studio, Mountain Top Yoga, in Meadow Vista in 2000.
Susan is certified as a Level 1 and Level 2 Ananda Yoga teacher, a Level 1 and Level 2 meditation teacher, a certified foot reflexologist, and has completed reiki levels 1 & 2. She has been registered with Yoga Alliance since 1999 as an e-RYT 500 (experienced yoga teacher with over 500 hours of training/teaching). She is also a member of the Reflexology Association of California. Susan has made several trips to India to learn more about yoga and how it is practiced there. She documented one of those trips extensively and colorfully with photos and videos in her Blog. Before she retired, Susan was a trial lawyer. She has two children and has lived in the Sierra Foothills since 1996. She teaches live, in-studio yoga & meditation at Ayama Yoga studio in Meadow Vista, online yoga on Zoom three days a week, as well as private classes, yoga parties, and foot reflexology sessions. |
